Super Eagles and Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, is reportedly a target for Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship, as revealed by Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Nwabali gained attention for his stellar performance during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. Despite making his competitive debut against Equatorial Guinea, he managed to secure four consecutive clean sheets. His notable contributions, including crucial saves in the semi-final against South Africa, contributed to Nigeria reaching the final, where they eventually lost 2-1 to Côte d’Ivoire.

Romano has disclosed that both QPR and Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq have expressed interest in acquiring Nwabali’s services. Chippa United, his current South African club, will be deliberating on his future move in the coming months.

Stanley Nwabali’s football journey includes starting as a striker at Go Round FC in 2019, followed by a move to Enyimba in 2020. He then played for Lobi Stars and Katsina United before joining Chippa United in the South African Premier Soccer League in 2022.

Nwabali earned his first cap for the Nigerian national team in 2021 during an international friendly against Mexico in Los Angeles, United States. His standout performances in the AFCON 2023 led to him being named Man of the Match in the semi-final clash against South Africa in December 2023.
