Mauricio Pochettino, the Chelsea manager, has elaborated on the reasons behind his team’s 4-1 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur in Monday’s Premier League match.

As a reminder, a goal from Cole Palmer and a hat-trick from Nicolas Jackson secured an away victory for Chelsea, marking the end of Tottenham’s unbeaten run in the league this season.

During his post-match press conference, Pochettino explained that Chelsea overcame Spurs due to their ability to capitalize on the host’s mistakes after conceding an early goal in the first half.

“We forced them to make mistakes, but Tottenham was better in the first 15 minutes,” Pochettino said.

“We are still building something; we need time to come against a team full of confidence and to concede after we started the game really badly.

“We were calm afterward and forced them to make a mistake.”
