Victor Osimhen has emerged as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who could depart Liverpool this summer, according to former Liverpool star Steve Nicol.

Salah’s future at Anfield has come under scrutiny, with speculation suggesting that the Egyptian forward may seek a move away from the club during the upcoming transfer window.

Despite Salah’s contract running until 2025, Liverpool could entertain offers for him if a substantial bid materializes.

Nicol believes that Osimhen could fill the void left by Salah’s potential departure, endorsing the Nigerian striker as a suitable replacement. Osimhen himself is expected to make a move from Napoli for a significant transfer fee, with interest from clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Nicol emphasized Liverpool’s need for a player who can tirelessly supply the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Salah himself, highlighting Osimhen’s work ethic and ability to complement Liverpool’s midfield and attacking lineup.

While it remains uncertain whether Liverpool will pursue Nicol’s suggestion, securing Osimhen’s services would likely require a substantial financial investment, potentially exceeding £120 million.
