Timo Werner has been encouraged by RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose to step up his thinking.

Werner has been advised by Rose to curb his obstinacy before this week’s Champions League match against Celtic.

However, Leipzig manager Rose was not pleased with former Chelsea player Werner’s response to being hooked during the game. Werner made it clear that he was not happy about being hooked.

Rose says that there is no conflict between them, but he has warned him that a repetition will not be tolerated.

“The player contacted me, and we spoke and shared our opinions,” he added.

“But the truth is that I can’t and don’t want to put up with such things. That’s significant, and I believe Timo recognized that.

“The issue is resolved, and it won’t occur again.

“I made it obvious to him that it’s a team game. However, there is no issue. Glasgow will host Timo.

“He has my full backing, and I want to work with him to help him score a lot of goals for our team and for Germany.

And I wish to support his growth.
