Ten members of the National Youth Service Corps will visit India on Sunday to take part in a youth exchange program run by the Indian National Cadet Corps, according to an announcement made by the corps.
The Republic of India celebrates its independence anniversary annually, and people from Europe, Asia, Africa, and other continents attend the program.
This was said in a statement released on Saturday and signed by Eddy Megwa, the director of press and public relations of NYSC.

Brigadier General Y. D. Ahmed, the Director-General of NYSC, thanked the Indian High Commission in Abuja during a pre-departure briefing for inviting the scheme to be a part of the program.
The program has another chance, according to the DG, “to showcase the potential of the Nigerian youths while also giving participants the opportunity to understand the socio-economic similarities and differences between the two countries,” with this invitation being the second one.
Ahmed stated that the Scheme was “always open to collaborating with agencies both within and outside the country, for the promotion of its objectives” and that Nigeria is a country with a diverse population.
The DG congratulated the Corps Members on their nomination for the event and enjoined them to behave well in accordance with the scheme’s core values. He also stated that the ideas the Nigerian delegation would acquire from the program, particularly from the Indian National Cadet Corps, would be applied to improve the NYSC programs.
Prior to this, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Shri Balasubramanian, expressed gratitude for the program’s contributions to Nigeria’s development and disclosed that the program’s uniqueness and similarities to India’s National Cadet Corps were taken into consideration when choosing Nigeria to participate in the Youth Exchange Program alongside other nations.
The High Commissioner stated that India will be open to learning from the scheme’s experiences, even as he assured the corps members of unforgettable and significant experiences during the program.
He went on to say that the Indian government was pleased with the final group of corps members who attended the nation’s 75th anniversary of independence and he encouraged the current group to follow in the footsteps of their forebears, since the Indian government would cover all travel expenses.
Balasubramanian admonished them to take the chance of the programme to make friends from across the globe and also discover the country’s rich cultural history, its historical places, other matters of interest including Indian cuisines”, the statement also read.
