This was disclosed in a statement posted on TCN’s X account on Tuesday and signed by the company’s management.

The statement made it clear that the head of public affairs had not made any such announcement and revealed that the nation’s power grid was still operational, continuously supplying significant amounts of electricity to distribution load centers around the country.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria issued a statement stating, “The Daily Post publication claiming that the Head of Public Affairs of TCN stated that there will be a national blackout is false and completely misleading is hereby refuted.
The claim is naughty and unfounded because TCN did not make it—the Public Affairs Head did.
We officially declare that the country’s grid is operational and that distribution load centers around the country are receiving bulk electricity.
The TCN National Control Center Osogbo, which oversees bulk electricity transmission across the country, was operating as of the time this announcement was released.
