Highlighting the departure of seasoned players like Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo, and Victor Moses without adequate replacements, Musa emphasized the need for a blend of youth and experience in the squad.

“We have a lot of players who should not have retired from the team when they did, but it was what the media reported that forced them out,” said Ahmed Musa, addressing the departure of experienced players.

Expressing the necessity of players like Mikel Obi and Victor Moses in the current team, Musa stressed that the squad requires both youth and seasoned players to thrive.

In a plea to the media, Musa urged for understanding and support for the younger generation, emphasizing the need to ease the pressure on them. “Please, I am begging the media to please take it easy with these young boys; they can’t take too much pressure,” stated the captain while advocating for his current teammates.
