Sporting Lagos has been fined N1 million for a security breach.

The Nigeria Premier Football League board has imposed a fine of N1 million on Sporting Lagos for a security breach during their matchday nine clash against Heartland. The game, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, saw Sporting Lagos penalized for inadequate security measures.

Sporting Lagos is required to settle the fine within 14 days to avoid additional sanctions. Additionally, the club has been mandated to implement a more robust matchday security 🥲qa0or their supporters.

The NPFL board has stressed the importance of Sporting Lagos establishing an effective matchday security plan to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

The club has a 48-hour window to lodge an appeal against the imposed sanction.
