Prof. Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has conveyed his sincere grief at the passing of his spokesperson, Isa Gusau.

According to a government statement, Gusau passed away on Thursday at an Indian hospital after a lengthy illness. Prof. Usman Tar, the state commissioner for information and internal security, made this announcement.

In the statement, Zulum referred to the deceased as a beloved team member and a committed public servant.

Since June 2019, Gusau has been Zulum’s Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy. She previously held the same position under Senator Kashim Shettima during the latter’s tenure as the state’s governor.

Everyone respected Mallam Isa Gusau for his dedication to the people of Borno State and his extraordinary professionalism in his position.

According to the statement, Zulum “was a tireless advocate for the state and he worked tirelessly to communicate the government’s initiatives and policies to the public with clarity and transparency.”

The governor went on, saying, “Isa Gusau will be remembered for his dedication to the betterment of Borno State and his passion for serving its people.” His extraordinary communication abilities were important in promoting mutual respect and collaboration between the public and the administration.

The governor prayed for the deceased’s soul to rest and asked God to provide his family and other loved ones the strength to Bear the loss.
