In a statement made available to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday, Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps, revealed that three adult females died in multiple road crashes on the Ijebu-Ode Road in the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State, while six others suffered injuries of varying degrees. The accidents happened separately on the same route between 9am and 12pm on Wednesday, involving 17 people: three deaths were recorded, six injuries were reported, and eight people managed to escape unharmed. Okpe stated that the first accident happened around the J4 Junction along the Ijebu-Ode Road and involved a collision between a Chevrolet car and a Bajaj motorcycle.
One victim was said to have died as a result of the collision, while another victim sustained injuries.
The first incident happened at approximately 08:55 in the morning near the J4 Junction, she said. It included two cars, one of which had the registration number AGL254HF CHEVROLET and the other, a Boxer Bajaj motorcycle without a number.

Four people in all—three adult males and one adult female—were involved. Two people managed to flee unharmed, but one adult female was killed and another injured.
Similarly, a few meters from the scene of the first incident, another accident involving thirteen people resulted in the deaths of two adult females and the injuries of five more.
About 1200 hours, the second crash happened a little distance after J4. Thirteen individuals were engaged in the collision: two male children, five female adults, and six male adults. Two adult females were confirmed dead in the collision, leaving five injured and six unharmed.
“A Toyota Sienna with registration number LSD315FU and a Honda Accord with registration number ENU04GO were involved in two accidents.”
Okpe reported that the wounded victims were brought to Hope Clinic at the J4 Junction for medical care, while the bodies of the deceased had been placed in the morgue of Ore General Hospital.
She blamed driving too fast for the accidents, but she also mentioned that Anthony Uga, the Ogun Sector Commander, advised drivers to drive carefully and according to the law.
“Excessive speed is alleged to have caused the crash. The bodies were placed in the morgue at Ore General Hospital, while the injured victims were brought to the Hope Clinic J4 for medical assistance.
“CC Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander FRSC Ogun, cautioned drivers about the risks of speeding and stressed that it is preferable to be cautious and arrive late rather than early. In addition, he counseled drivers to drive defensively and follow traffic laws, Okpe said.
