According to reports, Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday did not sit well with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.
During the match, the Red Devils faced significant pressure, allowing Brentford 31 attempts on goal while managing just 11 attempts themselves. Mason Mount’s late goal appeared to secure a victory for Brentford, only for Kristoffer Ajer to score in the 99th minute, resulting in a draw.
The Telegraph noted that this performance was met with disappointment by Ratcliffe and those associated with INEOS. This marks the second time this season that Ratcliffe has been particularly dissatisfied with a result, with United’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham in February also drawing criticism.

Although United had more shots on goal in the Fulham match (21 to 17), they faced significant pressure and only scored in the 89th minute, ultimately losing to a late goal by Alex Iwobi.
Ratcliffe is expected to make a decision regarding the future of manager Erik ten Hag before the next season begins. However, there is speculation that Ratcliffe may delegate this decision to incoming CEO Omar Berrada, who is set to join United in the summer.
While England manager Gareth Southgate has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Ten Hag, the Dutchman himself has expressed indifference towards the speculation surrounding his position.
