“I like Erik. I think he’s a very good coach, but ultimately, it’s not my decision. The management team running Manchester United has to determine how best to manage the team in various respects.
“But that team, including Omar [Berrada] and Dan Ashworth, has only been in place since June or July. They weren’t around earlier in the year. They’ve only been there for weeks, so they need time to take stock and make sensible decisions.
“Our goal is clear: we want to bring Manchester United back to where it belongs, and we know it’s not there yet.”
Several names, including Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel, Eddie Howe, Massimiliano Allegri, and Gareth Southgate, have been mentioned as potential replacements for Ten Hag. The Dutchman signed a two-year contract extension in July after being retained following the club’s post-season review.
