In the Bundesliga, a potential surprise champion looms as Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen holds a 10-point lead over second-placed Bayern Munich in Germany.

Expressing his desire to see Thomas Tuchel’s side miss out on the top-flight title in Germany, Ferguson stated to the Eintracht Frankfurt website: “I always hope to see the underdog win. Bayern fans may not agree with that, but like all neutral fans in Germany, I genuinely hope to see someone else win the league again.”

Furthermore, Ferguson made a lighthearted prediction for Euro 2024 this summer, jokingly suggesting that hosts Germany have “no chance” of defeating his beloved Scotland in their opener.

With a smile, he added, “No chance (laughs). I’m going to watch that game live. I have to see it. Scotland isn’t that bad, you know. They have good midfielders and two solid fullbacks. The striker position has been a bit of a challenge in recent years. The Scottish fans will be fantastic.”
