The stunning and accomplished actress shared a video of herself to disprove critics who claimed she couldn’t speak the language. In the video, she was seen speaking the language well and giving instructions.
Though many people have responded to the video, some have expressed astonishment at hearing her speak the Benin accent and have praised how beautiful the language sounds. Likewise, as can be seen in the comments, some people translated what she stated in the video.

Mercy Aigbe was born in Edo state to a Benin father, and a Yoruba mother, but grew up in Lagos, where she obtained her elementary and secondary educations.
The 44-year-old mother of two is quite proficient in Yoruba and entered the Nollywood profession in 2001. She has since appeared in numerous films, the majority of which are in Yoruba.
Gossipinfo Recalled That Mercy Aigbe, a star of Nollywood, was recently treated with respect during a trip to Benin City, Edo State’s palace of the Oba of Benin.
The native of Edo State visited Benin for the Edo Film Festival, where the governor gave her a special commendation.
During a brief visit to the Oba’s palace, Mercy Aigbe and her husband Kazim Adeoti visited with the Queen.
Mercy thanked the Queen for her thoughtful gesture towards her by posting pictures from their visit to her Instagram page.
