Turkish midfielder Arda Guler is reportedly growing ‘frustrated’ with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti due to his limited playing time this season. Despite Madrid securing Guler’s signature over Barcelona during the summer, the 19-year-old’s debut was delayed by a serious knee injury that required surgery.

Although Guler returned to the pitch in January, he has only accumulated 92 minutes in five appearances. Displaying his frustration, he tossed his bib to the ground when Ancelotti overlooked him against Almeria in January and was also denied the opportunity to play against Sevilla last weekend. Ancelotti dismissed the incident, stating it “did not matter” whether Guler understood his actions.

Reportedly, Guler is upset with his role and is puzzled by receiving fewer minutes than Castilla midfielder Nico Paz. Madrid is said to be concerned about Guler’s attitude and public expressions of frustration, especially since he ruled out a loan move during his presentation as a new signing last summer.

Addressing Guler’s concerns, Ancelotti acknowledged the young player’s need for playing time to showcase his talent but emphasized the challenge of balancing individual progress with team and club demands. Despite Ancelotti’s renowned man-management skills, reports suggest a growing discord with several players in the Madrid dressing room.

Luka Modric, openly expressing disappointment at no longer being a regular starter, is expected to leave this summer. Additionally, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, anticipating a permanent move from Chelsea, is reportedly disappointed by Ancelotti’s lack of clarity regarding his position in the team. Club captain Nacho Fernandez, while receiving substantial playing time, is believed to be frustrated by Ancelotti’s decision to substitute him during challenging moments, raising concerns about the manager’s faith in him and straining their relationship.
