Kenneth Gbagi, the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for governor of Delta State in the March 18, 2023, election, has expressed disappointment over the ruling by the Supreme Court. On Friday, the court upheld Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the winner of the governorship race, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Gbagi, a former minister of state for education, had responded to the ruling on his petition by signing a statement that read, “Fellow Deltans, the 19th day of January 2024 marks the darkest day in the history of the people of Delta State.”

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has ruled on the clearly embarrassing and fraudulent situation in Delta State, which the Republic of Nigeria and especially Deltans have woken up to witness today. The Supreme Court of Nigeria is the final hope of the people.
