Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed that summer signing Leny Yoro could be included in the squad for Wednesday’s trip to Arsenal. The £52m arrival from Lille, brought in by Erik ten Hag, had yet to make an appearance for United after suffering a foot injury during pre-season. Following surgery in August, Yoro returned to first-team training in November under Amorim’s guidance.
Although still awaiting his competitive debut, Amorim hinted that the wait might be over this week. “Maybe Leny Yoro will be with the squad, he is in a good moment, and his fitness is improving,” the manager said in a press conference on Monday.
“He is a special talent, and we need to be careful in this first phase,” Amorim added. “We haven’t had many training sessions together, but he’s really fast and a modern defender, which is ideal for pressing high and handling one-on-one situations with strikers. He’s excellent with the ball, and I’m really excited, though I have to manage his workload carefully.”

In other positive news for United, Amorim confirmed that captain Bruno Fernandes, who was seen with an ice pack on his ankle after Sunday’s 4-0 win over Everton, is “fit to play” against Arsenal. However, the team will be without midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and, crucially, centre-back Lisandro Martinez, both of whom received bookings that led to suspensions over the weekend.
