Ruben Amorim arrives in England on Monday, but the new Manchester United manager faces an anxious wait to find out when he can begin working with his squad as he looks to turn around their season.

Amorim will travel to Manchester after managing his final game with Sporting Lisbon at Braga. However, the Portuguese coach is still waiting on the work visa that will allow him to officially take charge of United.

Upon his arrival, Amorim will find a depleted squad due to the ongoing international break. Those players still in Manchester, including Marcus Rashford, remain uncertain about when they will get their first training session under the new manager.

Meanwhile, United secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford on Sunday in Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s final match as caretaker manager. Van Nistelrooy, who oversaw three wins from four games, reflected on his brief tenure, saying: “Itโ€™s been a short but amazing period. We are in an uncertain position, but we tried to do our jobs and help the club. The way the fans supported me and the team in difficult moments was special.”

United captain Bruno Fernandes acknowledged the upcoming changes under Amorim but emphasized the club’s primary goal. “Itโ€™s a new era, and a new manager means everything changes. But what hasn’t changed is that this club has to get back to where it belongs,” he said.

Leicester manager Steve Cooper, whose side struggled in the loss, said: “We werenโ€™t the threat we are capable of being. We fell short.” Cooper also confirmed that Ricardo Pereira would be sidelined for four months with a torn hamstring.
