Reports from Spain suggest that star striker Robert Lewandowski has rejected a lucrative contract offer from Saudi Arabia to remain at Barcelona.
The Poland international, who joined Barca in the 2022 summer transfer window, played a pivotal role in securing the club’s first La Liga title in four years during his debut season, netting an impressive 23 goals in the league and 33 in all competitions. However, his second season at the club saw a dip in his goal-scoring form, with Lewandowski managing just two goals in 11 games before the turn of the year.
Amid rumors surrounding his future at Barcelona, Lewandowski has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia to join fellow veteran superstars Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Sport reported that he was offered a contract that would ‘triple’ his current salary at Barca to make the move to the Middle East.

Despite the tempting offer, Lewandowski has reportedly decided to reject the contract and see out the final year of his current deal at Barcelona.
Speaking recently, the striker hinted at his commitment to Barcelona by expressing his desire to play at Camp Nou again, especially with the stadium undergoing major renovations.
“It is one of the objectives, to play again at Camp Nou,” Lewandowski stated. “It’s a magical stadium, a magical field, and yes, of course, we have to wait ten months I think. In the new season, almost at the end of the year, we will be on the field and we will be able to play with all our people and with that atmosphere.”
He added, “I feel very good in the city, my family too, very happy and happy. I am happy in the club, but also in everything else.”
Lewandowski’s decision to stay at Barcelona coincides with an upswing in both the club’s and his own fortunes during the 2023/24 season. With Lewandowski finding his goal-scoring form again, Barcelona has enjoyed an impressive unbeaten run of form, propelling them to second place in La Liga and securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
