Ruben Amorim reportedly has his sights set on his initial three signings if he assumes the role of Liverpool manager next season, as per a recent report.
According to Sky Germany’s claim on Tuesday, Amorim has verbally agreed to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield once the German departs at the end of the season. However, Liverpool sources have denied these assertions, although Amorim remains the frontrunner for the position.
Amorim, who guided Sporting to a treble in 2021 and famously eliminated Arsenal from the Europa League last season, currently leads Portugal’s Primeira Liga with Sporting.

Portuguese outlet Jornal Noticias suggests that Amorim is keen to bolster Liverpool’s defense by bringing in Sporting’s Goncalo Inacio and Ousmane Diomande, who have formed a formidable center-back partnership. Amorim reportedly envisions them partnering with Virgil van Dijk at Anfield.
Additionally, Amorim is said to be interested in securing Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand for Liverpool. The Denmark international has attracted attention from Tottenham and Arsenal, with reports of his Arsenal allegiance stemming from a childhood fandom.
Former Liverpool defender Abel Xavier, speaking to BBC World Service, offered insights into what Reds fans could anticipate under Amorim’s leadership, highlighting his humility, discretion, and clear mindset. Xavier noted Amorim’s successful implementation of ideas at Braga and Sporting, emphasizing his ability to foster empathy and drive results.
