According to reports, Liverpool has “expressed an interest” in acquiring Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh.
Newcastle may face early sales in the summer transfer window to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and to finance their own operations.
The Telegraph suggests that Newcastle is reluctantly considering offers of approximately £40m for Minteh, who spent the previous season on loan at Feyenoord.

During his time at Feyenoord, the 19-year-old was under the management of Liverpool’s new head coach, Arne Slot, who lavished praise on him. Minteh impressed with 11 goals and six assists during his loan spell in the Netherlands.
The Gambian international has also attracted interest from clubs in Italy and Germany.
Minteh was initially signed by Newcastle from Danish club Odense last summer for £6.5m. The club could now potentially sell him at a profit and utilize the funds to secure a new starting winger, with players like Jarrod Bowen, Michael Olise, and Nico Williams on their radar.
Furthermore, selling Minteh could enable Newcastle to retain star players such as Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes. Earlier this year, 90min reported that Newcastle prefers to sell Guimaraes over Isak, with Arsenal and Manchester City among the clubs interested in the Brazilian midfielder.
Additionally, Newcastle’s absence from European competition next season reduces their potential earnings and decreases the necessity for a larger squad.
