Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a potential move for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the current season.
Despite being 32 and undergoing a managerial change at Liverpool, Salah has continued to perform at an elite level in the 2024/25 campaign, with 16 goal contributions in 15 appearances across all competitions.
According to SPORT, Barcelona officials have once again discussed the possibility of signing Salah, a player they had shown interest in back in 2022. However, that pursuit stalled due to Liverpool’s high asking price and Salah’s wage demands.

While Barcelona’s primary target for a new winger remains Nico Williams, who was financially out of reach this past summer, Salah could soon be available for free if he chooses not to renew his contract with Liverpool.
The report also suggests that Salah is open to a move and “likes Barca,” though Liverpool are keen to keep him at Anfield. Additionally, a potential move to the Saudi Pro League remains on the table, adding to the options Salah may have when the summer transfer window opens.
The Egypt international has yet to make a decision about his future, recently commenting after scoring a match-winning goal against Brighton: “No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently compared Salah to footballing legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, highlighting his sustained excellence in his thirties. “There is no reason to think he is dropping in level,” Slot said. “When you look at his numbers or watch him play, he is still at the top. Just look at Ronaldo and Messi—they’re still performing at an incredible level.”
