Liverpool coach Arne Slot has achieved a remarkable feat that no manager in the club’s 132-year history has accomplished.

When Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp at the beginning of the 2024/25 English Premier League season, few expected the Dutchman to hit the ground running. However, he has not only stepped into Klopp’s sizeable shoes but has also begun to carve out a legacy that even the charismatic German would be proud of.

On Tuesday night, Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig thanks to a goal from Darwin Nunez, setting a new club record in the process. This win marks the first time in Liverpool’s history that a manager has won the first six away games of a season. Additionally, Slot has become the first coach in the English Premier League to win 11 out of 12 games in charge across all competitions.

Reflecting on this achievement, Arne Slot remarked on the significance of accomplishing something previously unattainable. “So many great teams have worn this shirt, and many great managers have been at this club. Achieving something that hasn’t been done before is nearly impossible at a big club like this, so it’s always nice,” he said.

The 46-year-old Dutchman emphasized, however, that while setting records is important, the ultimate goal remains to win trophies. “Records are nice, but there’s something even more valuable than records, and we both know what I mean—that’s trophies.”

JiLiverpool currently tops the Premier League table and maintains a perfect record in the Champions League. They will face title contenders Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, October 27, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30 PM.
