Sources indicate that Ethan Mbappe’s future is independent of his brother Kylian’s anticipated move to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Kylian’s contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the season, and he has expressed his intention to depart once it lapses. While Madrid has shown a longstanding interest in Kylian and talks for a summer transfer are progressing, no final agreement has been reached yet.

Amidst speculation, there have been suggestions in the Spanish press about Madrid’s potential interest in signing Ethan, reminiscent of their previous moves from Monaco to PSG in 2017. However, sources close to the situation reveal that both PSG and Ethan are focused on the youngster gaining more playing time at Parc des Princes, and discussions regarding an extension haven’t been ruled out.

Ethan, who operates in central midfield, has made a few senior appearances for PSG this season but has recently been absent from matchday squads. Although his contract also expires this summer, PSG remains calm about the situation, with talks neither advancing nor collapsing, and relations between both parties remaining positive.

During a recent announcement to the PSG squad about his departure, Kylian’s departure, coach Luis Enrique jokingly asked Ethan if he would follow suit, to which Ethan responded in the negative.

PSG’s main priority is to ensure Kylian’s exit goes smoothly, while Ethan is striving to regain his place in Enrique’s squad. Therefore, the resolution of Ethan’s future might not occur until closer to the end of the season.
