Subsequent examinations, however, have revealed that the injury is significantly more serious than the one the forward experienced in late August. A statement regarding Vinicius Jr.’s fitness, posted on Real Madrid’s official website, states:
“After the evaluations conducted today [Saturday, November 18] by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Vinicius Jr., he has been diagnosed with a tear in the femoral biceps with involvement of the distal tendon in his left leg.”
The injury is anticipated to sideline Vini until the beginning of the new year. This development will be a harsh setback for Madrid, particularly following the revelation that midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is also expected to be absent for the remainder of 2023 due to a knee injury sustained while on international duty.
