Carlo Ancelotti has officially confirmed that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will mark his return for Real Madrid in Saturday’s match against Cadiz.
Courtois endured an ACL injury during pre-season and aimed for a comeback in April, only to face another setback with a knee injury later on. However, he made a comeback to the bench during the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich. Ancelotti has now disclosed that Courtois will reclaim his position in the Madrid goal against Cadiz in La Liga this weekend.
“Thibaut is in good shape,” Ancelotti stated. “Tomorrow, he will make his return after a considerable period.

“It’s uplifting news that he’s back, along with [Eder] Militao. He can provide a significant contribution. Thibaut is in good spirits. We’re thrilled to have him back.”
Despite suggestions that Ancelotti might opt for Courtois against Bayern on Wednesday, the manager confirmed his continued confidence in Andriy Lunin for the time being.
“Our focus is on the final against Bayern next Wednesday, where Lunin will feature,” Ancelotti clarified. “After that, we’ll assess the situation.”
Ancelotti also mentioned that centre-back Eder Militao, who has recently returned from an ACL injury and made six appearances, will feature against Cadiz to help regain his match fitness before the season concludes.
“Militao will play tomorrow to gain rhythm,” Ancelotti affirmed.
