The breakthrough came as Luka Modric’s well-placed corner found Antonio Rudiger, whose powerful header was saved by Guaita. However, Vinicius Junior capitalized on the rebound, securing Madrid’s lead.

Despite Celta being largely on the defensive, they managed one notable chance before halftime. Luca de la Torre missed an unmarked header from Iago Aspas’ delivery.

Madrid’s dominance continued in the second half, with half-chances from Federico Valverde, Brahim Diaz, and Rodrygo Goes. The decisive moment arrived when Joselu, coming off the bench, narrowly missed a headed effort from Modric’s corner.

In the 75th minute, another Modric-delivered corner led to chaos in Celta’s box, resulting in Rudiger’s header rebounding off the crossbar and Guaita, leading to an own goal.

A second own goal followed as Carlos Dominguez inadvertently put the ball into his own net after a Vinicius Junior cross confused Guaita.

Arda Guler capped off the scoring with his debut goal for Madrid, seizing a through ball from Dani Ceballos, rounding the goalkeeper, and calmly slotting it into the corner.
