Queens Park Rangers, an English Championship club, are vying to secure the services of Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper, currently with Chippa United in South Africa, played a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey to the Africa Cup of Nations final earlier this year. Opting against extending his contract with his current club, Nwabali will become a free agent at the end of the season.

While discussions between Nwabali and QPR surfaced in January, a deal was not finalized. However, the Championship side is expected to renew their interest in the goalkeeper this summer.

With current goalkeeper Asmir Begovic facing criticism this season and nearing 36 years of age, QPR is likely in search of a new shot-stopper.

QPR isn’t the only club eyeing Nwabali; Union St. Gilloise and Al Ettifaq have also shown interest, although no concrete offers have been made yet. Nonetheless, Nwabali’s stellar performances have garnered attention, and any team securing his signature could benefit greatly from his talents.
