An investigation into an altercation between a male student and a university instructor has been launched by the administration of Obafemi Awolowo University.
PUNK Metro learned that on Wednesday, while the lecturer, simply known as Dr. Ariyo, was giving a class, the student, just known as Gift, a 200-level student at the institution, ran into the lecture hall.
According to campus sources, Gift mistook the class for the one he was supposed to attend. until he realized this, he hurriedly tried to leave the room until the lecturer called him back.

According to a student who spoke under the condition of anonymity, the lecturer got into a disagreement with the student that turned into a fight.
He believed that the course was intended for him as well. He bolted from the classroom as soon as he noticed that everyone’s looks were odd. The instructor then gave him a call back. We then learned that the student was invited to be taken by the security staff by the lecturer. The student’s phone was also dragged by him, the insider claimed.
One of the videos of the event that went viral on the internet showed the student fighting with a man who appeared to be a security agent. Additionally, the student was observed attempting to push his phone when the professor yelled,
“Avoid making any calls! Turn off your phone! Even if you are the son of the VC, you cannot be greater than me. I will not take this away from you. Turn off your phone!
The pupil, Gift, was heard asking, “What did I do?”
A few seconds later, the student with her back against the wall was observed fighting to get the phone back from the man, supposedly the lecturer. Later on, as the other students in the class stared in shock, he was spotted punching the pupil.
