Ademiluyi, a law graduate, was born in England, United Kingdom, but she is an Ile-Ife descendant from Osun State in southwest Nigeria. She is the creator of the Africa Fashion Week, a programme that supports African fashion designers through its affiliates, the Africa Fashion Week London and Nigeria.

Ronke, who was born on August 23 into a royal family from Ile-Ife in the Nigerian state of Osun, grew up in both the UK and Nigeria. She graduated in 1985 from the Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School where she had studied. She then pursued a legal education at Thames Valley University in London.

Princess Ronke Ademiluyi Career as a Law Graduate and an Ambassador

Ronke launched Africa Fashion Week in Nigeria and London in August 2011. She currently serves as its CEO. It is a yearly celebration of London’s distinctive and diverse cultural history that includes two days of free fashion festivities that fuse African culture, fashion, and music. A lot of Western and African cultures are mixed via fashion.

Since 2011, she has organized eight catwalk shows under the auspices of AFWL and provided expertise for at least ten more events organized by outside organizations, such as the Mayor of London’s Black History Month festivities. A highlight on the yearly fashion calendar, she also featured nearly 800 up-and-coming designers and exhibitors from Africa, Europe, and America to close to 70,000 attendees, including buyers, retailers, key industry figures, and the media.

As part of his attempts to elevate Yoruba culture, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, nominated Princess Ademiluyi as the Heritage Ambassador for Queen Moremi Legacy in June 2017. With her new position, the Princess is now Moremi’s living incarnation and is charged with preserving and advancing the legacy of the legendary African heroine.
