President Bola Tinubu has affirmed his administration’s dedication to supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to unlock their full potential and ensure their long-term success. He emphasized this commitment at the 2023 Edition of the Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF), organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Lagos.
Tinubu underscored the vital role played by MSMEs in the Nigerian economy, emphasizing the government’s duty to provide them with the necessary support and resources. He mentioned policies, access to finance, and capacity building initiatives as avenues through which the government plans to empower these enterprises.
He also stressed the importance of MSMEs embracing technology, innovation, and adapting to evolving consumer demands. This, he believes, will position Nigerian MSMEs as leaders and innovators on the global stage.

Governor of Lagos, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, echoed the theme of the event, highlighting the significance of businesses connecting and collaborating. He described the fair as a valuable platform for businesses to showcase their products, gain marketing exposure, and network with others. Sanwo-olu emphasized the potential within the youth population, viewing it as an asset to be harnessed.
Dr. Michael Olawale-Cole, President of LCCI, emphasized the importance of the fair in Nigeria’s economic landscape. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the Nigerian business community but expressed confidence in their ability to overcome and grow. The theme, “Navigating Economic Challenges,” reflects the determination of the Nigerian business community to surmount obstacles and foster economic growth.
