Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool has officially ruled them out of contention for the Premier League title this season.

The draw sees Liverpool drop points in the title race, leaving them in second place on the table with 71 points, trailing Arsenal only on goal difference.

However, for Manchester United, their hopes of clinching the title this season have been dashed, as they now sit on 49 points with seven fixtures remaining.

United’s last Premier League title victory came in the 2011/2012 campaign under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.
