Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has conveyed words of advice and support to Tom Lockyer following the Luton Town captain’s recent cardiac arrest on the pitch during a Premier League match.
Lockyer collapsed in the 55th minute of Luton’s game against Bournemouth, leading to the abandonment of the match. Immediate medical attention was provided on the field, and Lockyer was subsequently taken to the hospital. The club later confirmed that he had suffered a cardiac arrest but was in a ‘stable’ condition.
Eriksen, who experienced a similar cardiac arrest incident during Denmark’s World Cup group game against Finland, shared his thoughts with Betfred, emphasizing that Lockyer should prioritize listening to medical professionals, assuring him that nothing should hinder his recovery.

“Well, first of all, I hope he [Lockyer] is okay,” expressed Eriksen to Betfred. “I have read and seen what’s happened, and I hope he’s okay, takes his time, is in a healthy way, and his family is there to support him. I cross my fingers that he is fine.
“My advice to him would be to make the best decision you can. Listen to the doctors, and if they tell you to maybe do something else, then respect that. There is nothing that is going to hold you back, but in the end, it all depends on how he’s feeling and what the doctors are saying. He has to make the decision with his family on what is next, but he should take his time and focus on himself.”
