Chelsea has confirmed that Thiago Silva will be leaving the club this summer to join Fluminense. The announcement was made through a statement released on the Blues’ official website on Tuesday.

The statement reads, “Following four seasons with Chelsea, Thiago Silva will depart after our final game of the Premier League season against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge and re-join Brazilian club Fluminense. Chelsea have agreed with Thiago that he can join up early with his new teammates after signing a two-year contract with the Brazilian club.”

Thiago will commence training with Fluminense before officially completing his registration on July 1st. During his time at Chelsea, the 39-year-old defender made over 150 appearances and contributed significantly to the team’s successes, including winning the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
