Three suspected “one-chance” armed robbers were apprehended on January 4 near Jubilee Bridge in the Abule-Egba neighborhood of Lagos, according to agents of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority. One of the criminals managed to escape.

The suspects were captured near Abule-Egba’s U-turn location, together with their operational vehicle, a “T4” commercial bus bearing the license plate APP 406 YE.

They were identified through preliminary investigations as infamous “one-chance” armed robbers who frequently operated in the Abule-Egba area.

When they forced one of their victims out of their car, some bystanders chased after them.

After then, the two suspects were turned over to the Ile-Epo Division police for additional investigation.

“Following the conclusion of investigations, the suspects, Jamiu Olalekan, age 31, and Oni Adeola, age 27, have been arraigned, while their operational vehicle remains impounded,” Hundeyin said in a Saturday update that included a photo of the suspects.
