Coote was heard saying, “He accused me of lying and then just had a right fing pop at me. I’ve got no interest in speaking to someone who’s fing arrogant. I do my best not to speak to him. You can see me there with mask on. Social distancing-10 meters apart. But my God, German c***, f*** me.”

Following the video’s release, Coote was suspended by PGMOL on November 11, with an investigation launched. The outcome was the termination of Coote’s contract after he was found to have breached conduct guidelines.

PGMOL Statement
“Following the conclusion of a thorough investigation into David Coote’s conduct, his employment with PGMOL has been terminated today with immediate effect.”

“David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, rendering his position untenable.”

“Supporting David Coote remains important to us, and we continue to prioritize his welfare.”

Additionally, according to The Athletic, Coote may still face further scrutiny, as the FA is conducting a separate investigation. His comments regarding Klopp’s nationality could be seen as discriminatory, potentially resulting in additional sanctions.
