Coach Jose Peseiro has issued a response following criticism from NFF Technical Committee chairman Shariff Ahlan regarding the Super Eagles’ recent poor performances, particularly in the World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Peseiro fired back at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), emphasizing the need for them to fulfill their commitment by paying his allowances and refraining from dictating his coaching approach.
The Portuguese coach, appointed in 2022, has overseen 15 games for the Super Eagles, securing six wins and facing as many losses. During his tenure, the team scored 31 goals (including ten in a single game against Sao Tome and Principe) while conceding 21.

Responding to Ahlan’s criticism, Peseiro urged the NFF to prioritize paying his allowances instead of attempting to dictate his coaching decisions.
“You’re busy to pay me my allowances but not busy to tell me what I will do,” he retorted.
Peseiro asserted his commitment to defending his squad selection for upcoming matches, emphasizing the importance of focusing on essential matters, such as fulfilling financial obligations to the coach.
