This week, Ibrahimovic questioned Guardiola’s capacity to enhance Manchester City’s prolific goal scoring, claiming the manager prioritizes himself over his team. “Can Guardiola make him better? In a mocking response, Guardiola said, “He is right, he is fully right – in this club, in this team, my ego is beyond every other person,” to reporters during his press conference on Friday, November 4.

“I dislike it when Erling scores three goals and receives all the attention. I’m soooo envious! I’m really really envious! Afterward, I pleaded with Erling not to score any more goals so that the Sun and Daily Mail would talk about me.

During their time together at Barcelona, AC Milan striker Ibrahimovic and Guardiola had disagreements. Later, in his 2011 autobiography, Ibrahimovic made some disparaging remarks about his former manager. Guardiola’s treatment of him, according to him, was like “purchasing a Ferrari and driving it like a Fiat,”
