Pep Guardiola has emphasized his commitment to Manchester City, asserting that he would be more likely to stay with the club in League One than even if they were to win the Champions League. Addressing the ongoing Premier League investigation into alleged financial breaches, Guardiola refused to draw parallels with Everton’s situation, where they received a 10-point deduction for violating profit and sustainability rules.
Despite the possibility of serious consequences for City, who vehemently deny the charges, Guardiola remained resolute in his commitment to the club. He refrained from engaging in comparisons with Everton’s case, emphasizing the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven.
Guardiola stated during his press conference, “You are questioning as if we have already been punished. In the moment, we are innocent until guilt is proved. I know people desire it; I feel it. I will wait to see the outcome, and after the verdict, we will come here and provide an explanation. But I absolutely will not contemplate my future, whether it involves being in the current league or even in League One.”

He further expressed a stronger inclination to stay with the club in the face of potential challenges, stating, “There is a greater chance of staying if we are in League One than if we were to win the Champions League. Why should I not believe? What has changed?”
“It’s not the case because the judge and the court and the Premier League lawyers and our lawyers at the end make both defence in front of the judge and after he will decide.
