Over 2,000 passports belonging to inbound travelers in Nigeria have been suspended due to violations of COVID-19 rules, according to the Nigerian government.

Mukhtar Mohammed, the Presidential Steering Committee’s (PSC) national incident manager, announced this at a press conference in Abuja on Monday.
The travelers who were found to have broken the protocol, according to Mohammed, were “penalized.”
He also mentioned that surveillance systems at airports, seaports, and land borders had improved.
Passengers arriving from banned nations were subjected to quarantine, and those who disobeyed these regulations were sanctioned by having their names published and their passports suspended for a year.
Let me guarantee you that we have released the names of nearly 2,000 people who have eluded quarantine in our health facilities thus far. We’ve also taken steps to ensure that their passports are revoked. As a result, there are unquestionably consequences for every action,” Mohammed explained.
Passengers travelling from high-risk nations such as South Africa, Brazil, India, and Turkey must spend 14 days in government-approved quarantine facilities.
