Adewale Elesho, a veteran actor, is noted for his wit. In fact, when people see him on the television, they know they’re going to get an earful. What makes him unique is that whenever he chastises someone, there is usually a lesson or two to be learned from his words.
Elesho stated why he seems to have a habit of verbally slapping people. “I mistreat people because it’s in the script for me to do in order to play the character correctly,” he explained. I feel that any rational individual would recognize that everything I do in a film contributes to the overall tale. However, I must admit that certain directors saw that anytime I had to chastise someone in a film, I did so effectively, and they began to put me in more of those types of parts. Basically, I abuse people a lot because I’m pretending to be someone else. It’s also important to remember that as actors, we teach society through our performances.

“I think it’s going nicely,” the senior actor replied when asked about Nollywood’s current state. The actors are putting in a lot of effort. However, I would like to ask the government to do more to help us combat piracy. Meanwhile, those who claim that Nollywood is impoverished are simply making up stories.”
Elesho also urged more young Nigerians to become politically active. “There isn’t anyone who doesn’t like politics; don’t you enjoy it?” I, like everyone else, am a political animal, but I have no plans to become totally involved in politics. However, I would like to encourage young people to enter politics since they are the ones who can make a difference in the current situation. They have the skills and the drive to succeed. This country can reclaim its greatness if they avoid corruption. Nigeria was not always like this; it used to be much better, and I believe we can be much better,” he stated.
