A deadly car accident that happened in Ikare Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area, Ondo State on Monday resulted in one fatality and two injuries.

A bus lost control and crashed into a group of young people who were enjoying a carnival along the road to celebrate the New Year. PUNCH Online found out about this.

Our correspondent was informed by an eyewitness that two of the young people had injuries and were taken to the hospital almost away.

“Yearlings from the Olokelede neighborhood of Ikare were participating in a procession from Ekan to Okela when the event occurred yesterday evening (Monday). The accident occurred in the Sago neighborhood of the community.

The eyewitness stated, “The two victims were seriously injured and taken to the hospital; however, one of them passed away this morning, Tuesday.”

Although the incident was confirmed, the state Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps stated that no lives were lost.

Ezekiel Son’Allah, the FRSC’s sector commander, claims that the driver of the car violated the speed limit, resulting in the collision.

There were just two injuries and no fatalities from the collision. The wrecked car was sent to the FRSC base in Ikare for safekeeping, while the injured individuals were brought to Inland Hospital in Ikare for medical assistance, according to the FRSC chief.
