The crash, which is believed to have happened on Tuesday at around 2:21 am near Car Park C Turning of the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, left six persons injured and two confirmed dead.
The sole collision involving a Toyota bus with the license plate ACA607XT was attributed to driving too fast, which caused the bus to lose control and crash.
This was revealed in a statement provided to our correspondent on Tuesday morning by Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Ogun State Sector Command.

It was said that the deceased patients’ bodies were placed in the hospital’s morgue, and the injured ones were transported to a hospital in Mowe.
Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of FRSC Ogun Sector Command, is reportedly extremely upset and saddened by drivers’ disregard for basic traffic laws, particularly the speed limit, which has resulted in tragic collisions on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
He also counseled drivers to drive at the posted speed limit in order to survive.
“The crash occurred in the early hours of today, Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at about 0221 hrs around Car Park C Turning on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway,” according to a portion of the statement.
Eight people—six of them were adult males—were involved in the incident; two of them were officially declared dead.
“The car in question was a Toyota Hiace Bus with the registration number ACA607XT.
Excessive speed is thought to have contributed to the single crash by causing the driver to lose control and crash the vehicle.
“The bodies were placed in the hospital morgue at Farmobis Hospital Mowe, and the injured victims were transported there.
“This attitude from drivers refusing to respect basic traffic laws, notably that of speed, which has been the cause of fatal incidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, pains the Sector Commander, FRSC Ogun Sector Command, CC Anthony Uga.
