Footage circulating online depicts a situation where numerous individuals were feared to have been harmed as the Lagos police reportedly used gunfire to disperse peaceful protesters during Mohbad’s candlelight procession in Lekki, Lagos.
The Justice for Mohbad movement took a significant step forward on September 21st, 2023, as the candlelight procession and tribute concert began at 5 PM at Lekki Phase 1 Gate and concluded at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.
There was a tremendous turnout of Nigerians, with numerous celebrities such as Davido, Zlatan Ibile, Abu Abel, Kiekie, Do2dtun, Eniola Badmus, Falz, and many others showing their support for Mohbad.

Shortly afterward, the Lagos State Police once again left many Nigerians disappointed as they reportedly fired tear gas at the large and peaceful crowd gathered in honor of the late Mohbad.
This incident resulted in chaos, as Nigerian youths had to flee in haste on the streets of Lekki, running for their safety, which led to a stampede.
Numerous individuals sustained severe injuries, and some lost their phones during the protest. Additionally, there are claims that the police also discharged gunshots at the peaceful protesters.
