Afonja Olaniyi, also known as Sanyeri, is a veteran Yoruba actor and producer who turns 47 today, October 14th.

Sanyeri, who is known for his comedic parts in films, was not present on October 14, 1974.
The Nollywood actor was born as the first child of his parents in the Bola Area of Oyo Town, Oyo State. Sanyeri received his primary and high school education at St. Michael Primary School in kè-èbó, Oyo State, and Durbar Grammar School in Oyo Town, Oyo State.
Sanyeri began performing in 1992 after being introduced to a theatre group by a friend. The comedian relocated to Lagos State in 1996 to pursue his career, and has since appeared in a number of Yoruba films.

Olaniyi Afonja is married to Hawawu Omolara Afonja, and they have two children together.
