David Datro Fofana, a gifted teenage striker, has been signed by Chelsea for a €12 million sum from Molde FC. Fabrizio Romano earlier today and Chelsea on their official social media accounts both confirmed this. David will join the rest of the team this winter and will be eligible for selection once his visa application with the English FA has been approved.
Datro is come to fill in for the injured Broja, but only on a long-term contract that lasts until 2028. Datro Fofana is a capable goal scorer who, if given the chance to mature, might rise to the top of the striker ranks despite his youth.
Because of his Ivorian heritage, many Chelsea supporters would like to see him emulate what their hero Drogba did for them, but the youngster would prefer to forge his own path at Chelsea.
Chelsea has been very aggressive with their signings this year as the new management makes clear that they intend to rebuild the team using top-tier scouting and cutting-edge strategies. I hope everything works out and Chelsea supporters get to enjoy the results of their perseverance.
