On the player side, Manchester United received approval, but PSV Eindhoven’s proposal was still pending.

After it appeared that there was little hope left after Liverpool, a rival team, halted the race to bring Gakpo to United, Erik ten Hag issued a statement.

Erik ten Hag: “We lost a striker, so we need to bring in a striker. However, it must be the proper striker who adds quality to the club, not just another player to the roster.”

“At Manchester United, the standards are high,” he continued.

However, Manchester United and Arsenal have spoken with Joao Felix’s agent, who represents Atletico Madrid.

This week, more discussions will be held to find a solution for Felix.
