Days after Toluige Olokoobi committed suicide early this week, her husband was arrested, according to the Edo State Police Command. Olokoobi is the mother of the boy known as “mummy calm down.”

Here in Benin, the woman from the widely shared “mummy calm down” video recently took her own life. She wouldn’t talk to anyone about her issues. She abandoned her three children, including the well-liked “mummy calm down boy,” for her husband.

Another local, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the dead was a medication distributor who killed herself in front of her one-year-old son.

The deceased’s husband is being questioned by the Edo State Police Command, according to SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson, who confirmed the arrest to reporters in Benin on Friday.

“His wife was hanging with a rope around her neck when he got home from the market. After informing his neighbors, he went to the hospital where it was determined that she had passed away.

The spokesperson continued, “He’s still with the police and will soon be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”
