Odunlade Adekola, a Nollywood actor, has been cast as the primary role in Rain Pryor’s upcoming film, which she is also the director and writer of.

In an interview with Newsmen, the actress disclosed that she selected Odunlade Adekola based on her observation of his talent after witnessing several of his films.

According to her:

“I am a fan of Nollywood, so in the last year and a half, Nollywood has flooded the United States through Netflix and other streaming platforms and I have watched King of Boys, Jagun Jagun and other titles and I have watched Odunlade, his range of abilities and what he can do and to me, he possessed what is needed for the character of Oba Fagbemi in the coming film and that was why I chose him,”

For the movie project, Rain Pryor is now working with Nigerian filmmaker and arts consultant Chike Nwoffiah, together with Bola Attah. While Attah and Nwoffiah are the project’s executive directors, she will be the director and executive producer.

The high-profile film project, according to Attah and Nwoffiah, is currently in the pre-production phase. Filming is scheduled to begin in 2024, with a 2025 release date.

Attah also revealed that the film will be filmed in Baltimore and other US locations in addition to Osun and Lagos State, Nigeria.
