Ayobami Arabambi, the Factional Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, expressed criticism towards Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the previous general election. Arabambi’s criticism stemmed from Mr. Obi’s failure to acknowledge Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president. This issue arose after Mr. Obi initially referred to Tinubu as the president in a tweet, but later deleted it.

Arabambi shared his perspective during an exclusive interview with Arise TV on Sunday. He stated that if Mr. Peter Obi cannot recognize the officially inaugurated president, he should consider relocating outside Nigeria. Arabambi’s comments reflect his belief that it is crucial for political figures to acknowledge the elected president officially. He also seems to question Mr. Obi’s loyalty to the country due to his failure to do so.

According to Arabambi, “Peter Obi does not possess the authority within the party to undermine the status of the incumbent president. The case is currently in the Tribunal, and I believe he should await the tribunal’s decision. When you state that you do not accept Tinubu as the president, it might be more appropriate for him to relocate out of Nigeria rather than undermine the Nigerian constitution.”
